I am writing to you today as you are a valued stakeholder of Threshold Housing Society. Your support has allowed us to provide safe homes, support services, and community to at-risk youth. We couldn’t do this work without you and for that we want to say thank you!

We have attached our newsletter to this email to provide you an update on the impact you have had at Threshold as well as to inform you on how we are doing during these challenging times.

On June 23rd, 2020, we are hosting a virtual screening of the documentary 19 and Homeless by Brighter Future Films. In British Columbia, when a youth in government care turns 19 years old they often lose access to essential support services, such as their housing, social worker, mental health services, and financial support.

This often leads to experiences of homelessness in adulthood. This documentary captures two years in the lives of a group of former foster youth as they age out of care and transition into adulthood. It includes a Threshold graduate’s journey from aging out of foster care to being supported by the Threshold program. This film captures youth navigating their challenges, barriers, their trauma, as well as their moments of joy.

Please join us on June 23rd, 2020, at 7pm for a virtual screening of this documentary to learn more about how your support has allowed us to provide safe homes and brighter futures to 100’s of youth aging out of foster care.
